Alice Shiels Jemima (born June 11th, 1993) is an English singer-songwriter.

Early LifeEdit

Jemima grew up in Devon, England. She started writing songs at the age of 12, where she managed to grab a work placement at Britain's biggest summer festival, Glastonbury. With the job cementing the idea of a music career in her mind, Jemima set about writing and developing her sound.

CareerEdit

2010-2013: Beginnings and All The BoyfriendsEdit

Alice Jemima started writing songs at the age of 12, and while at comprehensive school in her native Devon, she managed to grab a work placement at Britain's biggest summer festival, Glastonbury. With the job cementing the idea of a music career in her mind, Jemima set about writing and developing her sound. While at college, she won the Helen Foundation Best Endeavour Award, which saw her get to work with producer Andy Chatterley. She started posting original songs and cover on her SoundCloud account. Taking her classical guitar style and melding it with looped beats and subtle electronica, Jemima produced her first self-released EP All The Boyfriends on September 24th, 2012, while consistently uploading material to the internet. In 2013 Jemima released her cover of Blackstreet's No Diggity, which gained over 4 million streams on SoundCloud.

2014-2018: Sunday best and debut albumEdit

Jemima's covers caught the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ, Bestival founder, and label owner Rob Da Bank. After inviting Jemima to record a session at the BBC's Maida Vale studios, Da Bank signed the singer to his own Sunday Best label.

Spending time recording and working with the label, she released her single Liquorice on April 21st, 2016, which was the lead single of the EP with the same name, released on June 17th. Entering the studios with producer Roy Kerr, Jemima set about recording her debut album. She has released two more singles, them being Dodged A Bullet and Electric. In January of 2017, she re-released her cover of No Diggity, on all streaming devices. Her self-titled album, Alice Jemima, was released on March 3rd in the same year.

Jemima started working on her second album in 2016, and was finished in December 2018.

2019-present: Everything ChangesEdit

On April 12th, 2019, Jemima released her single Icarus, which was the lead single of her second studio album, Everything Changes, announced on July 19th along with the single Dancing In Love.
